Deeds are conveyances which transfer title of property from one party to another. The deed gives date of instrument, names of grantor (seller) and grantee (purchaser), location of property, amount paid for the property, grantor's notarized signature, certification of county clerk, and date recorded.

Henry County, the thirty-first county formed in Kentucky, was created from Shelby County in 1798. It was named for Patrick Henry. New Castle is the county seat. There was a courthouse fire in 1804.
